Mr Scruff Been listening to this non-stop. I was blown away by Keisha's recent 'Lunar' performance & book, and it is great to hear some recorded work springing from Manchester's long established and internationally respected spoken word scene. Keisha & Werkha work really well together, and I love the intimacy and subtle wordplay on these tracks. Top choices for me are 'Count' & 'Curse of I' (check the video for that one too), but you really need to dive into the whole thing. Favorite track: Count.

about

Ephemera is an attempt to capture those fleeting moments that float away then form the female experience. Inspired by a collection of her poems, SheBeKeke has collaborated with producer, Tom Leah aka Werkha and riveting cellist and vocalist, Abel Selaocoe, to explore her shifting femininity. I Am Phem.

The work will be accompanied by a digital zine titled I Am Phem via ISSUU.
